Hi I'm Ella !

I've just finished my Master's degree in English Literature and American Studies at the University of Manchester and started this blog as a space to share what I've been working on. I'm a long-time admirer and creator of fanzines and especially love how they operate creatively as pieces of art, but also as a way of publishing that is accessible, DIY and historically connected to underground punk and queer movements. I'm always reading, I especially enjoy poetry, and most non-fiction - particularly memoirs by my favourite artists and musicians, and academic writings on race, gender and sexuality. As a music obsessive I have also started my own podcast  that focuses on everything I love: punk, post-punk, indie, Northern Soul, and most things in between ! I showcase some of my favourite artists and songs whilst also looking at the context and history of wider genres, movements and influences.
